da quando ho iniziato a sentire questa canzone non riesco a smettere di farlo. l'ho scoperta perché presente nella colonna sonora di uno dei miei serial preferiti (e daje...lo so la musica non è la mia unica passione) e da quel momento è stata una folgorazione, ecco a voi: eve, the apple of my eye

siamo di fronte a una delle canzoni più tenere al mondo...la seconda parte del titolo è traducibile come "amore della mia vita". questa splendida opera ci viene regalata da un gruppo irlandese i bell x1, (composto da paul noonan, brian crosby, dominic philips e david geraghty) nonostante il loro nome evochi il primo areo "ad alta definizione". prima di scegliere questo nome i bell x1 si chiamavano juniper e fra le loro fila c'era anche damien rice. questa canzone è davvero dolcissima e nel testo il cantante di questo giovane gruppo irlandese ribadisce il fatto di come non riesca a vivere senza la sua eva e che nonostante questa femme fatale lo faccia e lo ha fatto soffrire lui non riesce a smettere di pensare alla sua "mela".

adoro questa canzone...ho amato sentirla in uno dei miei serial preferiti e in uno dei film più belli che abbia mai visto, tanto da averlo visto 2 volte...lo stupendo "lost in translation" di sophia coppola in cui bill murray ci offriva una splendida versione in un karaoke casalingo in cui scarlett johansson indossava una splendida parucca rosa...questa canzone veramente l'adoro e non riesci a togliertela dalla testa: sarà per il riff, la voce di brian ferry o per la melodia musicale, ma quando la sento non riesco a pensare ad altro: More than this

i roxy music sono una band che nasce negli anni '70 ed è fondata dallo studente d'arte brian ferry con phil manzanera, andy mackay e paul thompson. inizialmente prende parte al gruppo anche il mitico brian eno per poi abbandonarlo. i roxy music concludono la loro carriera nel 1983, ma ci ripensano e dopo aver superato gli anta nel 2001 si rimettono in carreggiata. come no immagini di "lost in translation".

bene, oggi parlo di una canzone che amo alla follia. tempo fa uscì fuori sto gruppo americano con un frontman che era davvero figo, ai tempi non si parlava d'altro se non di quanto si dava fare il suddetto nel video di "this love", ma qui si parla del secondo singolo di successo dei maroon 5: she will be loved

nel video adam levine, lo smandrappone front dei marroni 5, dedica questa canzone alla sua donna, anche nella vita, perché la ama anche se si spupazza anche la madre, kelly preston in travolta. questa canzone l'adoro in maniera particolare, mi piace il riff iniziale e poi trovo splendido che si scriva una canzone sulla bellezza di essere amati. e sinceramente se te lo dice adam levine finisce che ci credi pure...

bene, bene, bene...innanzittutto oggi è il mio compleanno, non in quanto gina, ma in quanto fille de poche. la canzone che vi propongo non riesco a smetterla di sentire da un po' di tempo, se la conosco devo dire grazie al mio miglior amico che me l'ha messa in un prezioso cd che mi ha donato l'estate scorsa. questa era l'open track, al di là del riff con nascosto dentro un motto di vita una perla musicalmente perlando, stiamo parlando di Your ex - lover is dead

il tema è un rendez-vous del tutto inaspettato con un proprio ex con una discreta punta di rancore non rancore fra i due protagonisti. a dare vita al rendez-vous le due voci del gruppo canadese degli stars. una cosa che amo di questa canzone è questo crescendo di emozioni e sensazioni in questa storia d'amore raccontata a due voci con tutte le sue fasi: l'imbarazzo scaturito da un incontro non voluto e inaspettato, il rancore per la storia finita e un triste addio finale, un classico a non rivederci più. quanto agli stars sono: torquil campbell (voce, tastiera e tromba), evan cranley (basso, chitarra e trombone), amy millan (chitarra e voce) e chris seligman (tastiera, programming e corno francese). le voci dei due non più amanti sono di torquil e amy. ah, di questa canzone amo anche tantissimo la cover del singolo, béccatevela qui sotto...

questa canzone è degli psychedelic furs, la band si forma a londra nell'anno del giubileo di elisabetta II: il 1977, in piena era punk, su iniziativa di richard butler. Lo affiancano il fratello tim (basso), john ashton e roger morris (chitarre), duncan kilburn (sassofono) e vince ely (batteria). Il sestetto debutta due anni dopo. nel 1981 è la volta del loro album più rappresentativo talk, talk, talk con questa canzone che darà il titolo a un film di john hughes: uno dei lungometraggi più famosi e più 80's che esistano. La bella in rosa è l'attrice emblema degli anni di reaganiana memoria: molly ringwald. nella colonna sonora sono presenti altri artisti 80's che amo: omd, gli Smiths, suzanne vega e gli echo and the bunnymen.

buon compleanno

fra pochi minuti si festeggia un compleanno...un anno fa, il 23 aprile, gina dina entrava nella mia vita...come regalo di compleanno mia madre decise di comprarmi un ipod mini rosa, che con poca fatica ho ribattezzato gina dina: gina deriva da aggeGINA dina deriva da ipoDINA, in sintesi GINA DINA o più semplicemente gina...ho un altro blog dove scrivo quello che mi passa per la testolina...quest'altro spazio nasce come un'esigenza differente augurare un buon primo anno di vita alla mia gina...il motivo non è solo quello sarà una finestra sulla musica che amo ascoltare e sarà più diretto del mio altro blog, ma parlerà sempre di me, la fille de poche, o meglio delle canzoni che mi accompagnano 24 ore su 24.
